Hi! I'm Amanda, the mama behind MamaKanga! My interest in babywearing began while I was still in law school and met a Swiss mom who carried her newborn baby everywhere, tied onto her body with a wrap. I was intrigued by the idea because the baby was always happy, the mom had her hands free, and she was able to enjoy so many activities while still caring for her child. It also looked really cool!

So, I filed the information away for future use. When I finally became pregnant 5 years later I started researching baby wraps online. I ordered my first German woven wrap and used it to wear my own baby starting at 1 week after birth. She loved being held close to my body and it made going on with my life so much easier! I was hooked on babywearing and soon was researching more and more options in carriers. I discovered TheBabyWearer.com and the whole world of baby carriers opened up to me. When I decided to continue to stay at home with my daughter I looked for ways to keep busy and continue to support our household. The idea to open a store dedicated to baby carriers was an obvious one. I am a true believer in babywearing and love sharing that passion with others!
